Chris Halicke, born and raised in northern New Jersey, covers the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL for DK Pittsburgh Sports.
Chris got his start in sports journalism in 2019, writing columns and analysis for FanNation’s All Steelers, part of the Sports Illustrated Media Group. Later that year, he began covering the Texas Rangers for Inside The Rangers, and remained on that beat until May 2022. He has also contributed stories to SI/FanNation’s coverage of the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Pittsburgh Penguins. In 2022, Chris became a member of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America and Pro Football Writers of America.
Prior to his work on DK Pittsburgh Sports, Chris lived in the Dallas area for 22 years, though his family is from Pittsburgh. He is happily married to Katie, a retired member of the United States Navy after 20 years of service. Chris and Katie have two children, Benjamin and Leah. When he isn’t working, Chris enjoys time with family, playing hockey and golf, online gaming, doing the occasional vocal cover on YouTube and is an avid fan of The Office, Parks and Recreation, Ted Lasso and Lost.
